X E N O Z
A 2025 report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) revealed that Asian criminal syndicates are operating multibillion-dollar cyberscam networks spanning South America, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Thousands of trafficked workers in covert compounds manufacture romance and “pig-butchering” scams using cryptocurrency platforms. The syndicates have adapted by relocating to remote regions after crackdowns but continue to recruit global victims. In 2023 alone, the U.S. reported losses of $5.6 billion due to these schemes. Note: This case isn’t a single crime but a systemic global network — a crime phenomenon of the digital age, showing how traditional enforcement is challenged by borderless, technology-driven wrongdoing.
